Pledge to Unite For Tibet
Over 60 years of China’s repressive policies and a severe and worsening security crackdown have created a crisis in occupied-Tibet, provoking an unprecedented wave of self-immolations by Tibetan monks, nuns and laypeople. To date there are over 100 confirmed self-immolation protests by Tibetans living under Chinese rule. At least 85 of these protesters are known to have died. All of those who have self-immolated called for freedom for Tibet and the return of the Dalai Lama.
China’s merciless and violent crackdown throughout Tibet is intensifying Tibetan grievances and exacerbating the resentment felt across Tibet. This growing tragedy, if left unchecked, could spiral even further into a nation-wide crisis, unless the world acts now. The international community, both citizens and governments, must Unite For Tibet; Global diplomatic intervention now will save Tibetan lives.
