On 8 December 2018, Drugkho, thought to be in his 20s and from Soruma Village in Ngaba County, set himself on fire. There are very few details about the protest incident itself, including on whether the self-immolator survived.

News reports say Drugkho shouted long-life prayer for Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, as he burned, and for freedom in Tibet.

Drugkho’s protest is the third self-immolation in Tibet in 2018.
